Stephanie Anderson is a ceramic artist from South Shields whose work explores character, texture, and the playful nature of clay. She graduated from Sunderland University with a degree in Glass and Ceramics, where she developed her passion for ceramics and the hands-on process of making.
Working primarily with clay, Stephanie creates handmade ceramic pieces that embrace individuality and imperfection. Her work is inspired by expressive forms and the personality that develops naturally through making, with each piece taking on its own unique presence. She is drawn to creating ceramics that feel full of life and bring a sense of charm, curiosity, and connection into everyday spaces.
Alongside her studio practice, Stephanie was President of the Glass and Ceramics Society at university, helping lead the group to win Academic Society of the Year. Her ceramics have been exhibited twice at the Shipley Art Gallery in Gateshead and at the National Glass Centre, reflecting her growing experience as an emerging ceramic artist.
